Hi :)
Anyone out there consider themselves to be an “old school” mobile developer?
What was it like building mobile apps before the App Store?

How would you describe the current state of the App Store?
I’ve admired this Tiffany’s ring for the past 3 years. It’s just perfect.
Do you think that the strong Mac developer community is one of the reasons that the iPhone has become such a successful development platform? Why or why not?
First, an update. I’ve written over 5,000 words of the book. Yay! To give you an understanding of how crazy this (self-imposed) deadline is, I have to finish a 250-page book in 30 days. That means about 1,700 words per day. Or in my world, 5,000 words in two days, no writing for 3 days, 4,000 words in 1 day, etc., until the manuscript is done. Ugh.
Fortunately, I happen to adore the subject matter I’m writing about, so that makes things significantly easier. I have, however, had a hard time figuring out the easiest way to track down and reach out to the smartest people who could potentially contribute to the book, through anecdotes, hard data, best practices or any other sort of additive contribution. In trying to streamline this operation, as well as attract people who I may never have discovered on my own, I’m going to try something new.
I’m going to use my Tumblr as a way to ask questions to the community and allow you to answer them as you please. You can answer questions using the Reblog feature of Tumblr, via the Disqus commenting system on my blog, or by emailing me directly at rana (dot) sobhany (at) gmail (dot) com.
When answering, please include your contact information (or at least your Twitter handle!)
Let’s try this out!
Love,
Rana
